Early Email #013: *Before* you plan for BFCM

Last week we spoke about checking your deliverability as you prepare for BFCM.

Here are a couple more things you need to take care of:

 

1. Do a quick audit

Look at your metrics to spot issues (list growth, conversion, deliverability).

Data can help you prioritize improvements:

  • • Too many bounced emails? Clean up your list and use double opt-in.

  • • Low click rates? Optimize copy and/or build hyper-targeted segments

 

2. Check your current flows

Make sure you have essential flows in place. (Flows = sequences, autoresponder)

3. Review your Marketing Mix

Let's be honest: Email & SMS can't win (no matter how great it is) if there's no traffic going to the website.

Review your company's (or client's) overall marketing plan + analytics data. This will give you a better sense of which channel(s) is driving acquisition. Double down on it!

 

As you can see we focused on gathering information.

If you're always up to date, then perfect, this is one less thing on your to-do list.

If not (not judging you), now's the time to dust off your analytics data and find areas of strengths and weaknesses.

Double down on what's working and fix what's not. Now's the time to do that, not the week before Black Friday.
