June eCommerce email campaign ideas

It's June 1st, so ideally you're already planning for your July/August eCommerce campaigns.

But if you're human just like me, sometimes we get behind or need just a little boost of inspiration.

So I'm sharing some campaigns I use for my own clients with you. Let's go!

The Popular Holidays

Father's Day: An easy one. If your product is even remotely applicable to dads, go for it.

Samples: Hawthorne (Gift Guide) | Yelp (Activities) | Tuft & Needle (Long Form)

Juneteenth: Not a time for being sales-y. Send an email to show genuine celebration and support.

Samples: Skillshare (Featuring prominent artists) | The Little Market

The Seasonal Staples

Summer: Summer collection? Light-colored anything? Anything to cool down the heat? Just relate your product to summer (unless it's a mad stretch). This is your chance.

Samples: Recess | PLAE | Protest Sportswear

Graduation: Almost anything can pass for a graduation gift, just make sure it's age-appropriate.

Samples: GoPro | Orangewood Guitars (Not a common grad gift, but they made it work)

The Niche Celebrations

June is the month of holidays like:

  • National Children’s Day

  • International Asteroid Day

  • Global Wellness Day

Pick a couple of these niche holidays. It's great for fun and/or thoughtful emails. Just don't overdo it.

The Let's-Move-Product Campaigns

Bundle Campaign: If you have bundles, focus on the value and the savings. Great for the "highly-engaged, nor yet purchased" segment.

Samples: Nura (Bundle plus discount) | Everlane (Summer Bundle!)

Last Chance/Limited/Retiring Campaign: If you genuinely have limited edition/low-inventory/retiring old products, move it faster with this.

Samples: Outwares | Bellroy
