{Idea} Level up your eCommerce quizzes: Have a mini-conversation

Quizzes are helluvah great for gathering zero-party data and boosting conversion, but how to make it better?

Standard Practice

Question 1, Question 2, Question 3, Bam! Results

Idea: Add info between questions

This idea is not new and I've seen this used by coaches, but I thought it would be fun to try this on eCommerce/DTC quizzes (if you know of an eCom brand already doing this, please share!).

I've seen quizzes where questions have sub-headings or sections that explain the question (Prose does this exceptionally well), but this is not it.

What I'm proposing is to ask a question, follow up with a quick and brief explainer as if you're responding to their choice, then ask the next question, followed by another brief explainer, etc.

That way it's a mini-conversion.

You get the reader engaged and nodding from start to finish, not just mindlessly clicking.

Example:

Question 1: How does your skin feel after you wash? <Chooses "dry all over">

Explainer: Dry skin feels uncomfortable and sometimes even painful! But it doesn't have to be that way...

Question 2: How much time do you have at the end of the day to cleanse and treat your skin? <Chooses "3-5 minutes">

Explainer: Not everyone has the time or the patience to do a 10-step skincare routine! But you don't need those 10 steps anyway to get the same results—often 3 to 5 minutes is enough!

Results - Tailored to the response.

For example, someone who has dry skin and only 5 minutes to spare for skincare will be served the "3-step moisture" collection and a brief blurb on how it can deliver optimal moisturizing effects in three quick and easy steps.

I'm giving this a try with OctaneAI and will report back on results.
